أن الهواء الملوث يعد سلاحا ساما يؤثر على صحة الأم والجنين ، وكذلك التأثير على صحه الجنين والمولود الذى قد يعانى بسبب

قال باحثون من جامعة كولومبيا إن إصابة الطفل بأعراض ADHD فى سن 9 سنوات، قد يكون نتيجة تعرضه وهو موجود فى الرحم لمستويات عالية من الملوثات الهوائية التى تسمى "الهيدروكربونات العطرية متعددة الحلقات". 

وأوضح المؤلف فريدريك بيريرا، أستاذ علوم الصحة البيئية فى كلية كولومبيا ميلمان للصحة العامة فى مدينة نيويورك، أن الملوثات والعوامل البيئية الأخرى يحتمل أن تساهم بجانب العامل الوراثى فى زيادة خطر إصابة الجنين باضطراب ADHD فى وقت لاحق من الحياة. 

وأضاف بيريرا أنهم يعتقدون أن المخ يتطور، لذلك هذه السموم قد تغير شيئا فى الربط الوظيفى أو بنية الدماغ الذى يؤدى إلى الإصابة بـ"ADHD"، وقد نشرت نتائج هذه الدراسة بمجلة “PLOS One”.

كشفت دراسة سويسرية حديثة، أن الأطفال لا يجدون ضررًا فى انتقادهم من الوالدين، أو حدوث شجار بين الأب والأم طالما تظل الأجواء داخل المنزل سعيدة بشكل عام، ويجد الطفل ثناءً على أدائه من جانب والديه بين الحين والآخر. وقال القائمون على الدراسة من جامعة زيورخ، إن الأطفال لا يتأثرون كثيرا كما كان يعتقد فى السابق بوقوع شجار بين الوالدين، طالما يظل عامل السعادة والاهتمام بهم هو السائد داخل المنزل. ووضع العديد من خبراء الأسرة نظرية مفادها "أن الانتقاد المستمر من جانب الوالدين يمكن أن يؤدى إلى شعور الطفل بحالة من الاستياء والتحدى، إلى جانب التقليل من ثقته بنفسه وإدراكه للأهداف التى يريد تحقيقها فى حياته". غير أن الدراسة السويسرية الجديدة، المبنية على دراسة 400 أسرة، وجدت أن الأطفال لديهم "حصانة" على نطاق واسع ضد الانتقاد من الوالدين، طالما تفوق تعليقات الوالدين الإيجابية على تصرفاتهم نظيراتها السلبية. كما وجد الباحثون أيضًا أن الأطفال لديهم القدرة على التكيف مع الشجار بين الوالدين إذا كانت معاملة الأب والأم لبعضهما البعض بلطف ودعم متواصل تفوق الخلافات بينهما بكثير.
